NO rBGH!!!

It is surprising how not sure we are about our own food safety. I want to use this page to share the safe food tips that I collect. It is simply too important for us to know these information, for our good health, well-being, our kids, our family, and our world.

Do you know what rBGH is? It is recombinant bovine growth hormone. It is allowed to give cows rBGH to increase their milk production in US, not in Europe, Canada & Australia.  It is bad for:

• COWS - because it can lead to chronic mastitis (if you’ve ever breast fed, you know what that means and why you don’t EVER want to have it!).  And because of the risk of infection, herds are treated with lots of antibiotics.
• PEOPLE - because the resulting milk has high levels of Insulin-like Growth Hormone (IGF-1).  Research has shown that elevated levels of IGF-1 is linked to an increased risk of breast, colorectal and prostrate cancer.
